Curriculum vitae

High school teacher specializing in Hungarian history, public education administrator, public education expert. He obtained his higher education degrees from Eötvös Loránd University, University of Pécs, and Budapest University of Technology and Economics. He defended his PhD thesis entitled "Quality and ethical expectations of Christian educators and the problems of their codification" in 2018 with a summa cum laude rating at the  Doctoral School of Political Science and Law at the Károli Gáspár University of the Reformes Church in Hungary. In 2025, he habilitated in educational science at the Doctoral School of Education and Society at the University of Pécs.

He has been a teacher since 1997. Between 1999 and 2005, he worked as a deputy headmaster at the Vajda Péter  Music  and Sports  Primary School in Józsefváros (Budapest 8th District), and from 2005 to 2013, he was the headmaster. Between 2008 and 2011, he was also the head of the Józsefváros Principals' Working Group.

Since September 2013, he has been working as an educational expert at the Reformed Pedagogical Institute. Between 2013 and 2014, he served as deputy director, and between 2014 and 2024, he served as director. Since August 1, 2024, he has been the honorary director of the Institute.

Since 2014, he has been teaching at Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church in Hungary. From 2014 to 2018, he was an assistant lecturer, first at the Faculty of Law, then at the Faculty of Pedagogy. From 2018 to 2023, he worked as an associate professor at the Faculty of Pedagogy, and in 2023, the Prime Minister of Hungary appointed him as a college professor. Since 2024, he has been an elected member of the Senate of Károli Gáspár Reformed University. Since September 2024, he has been the director general of the Centre for Pedagogue Training at Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church in Hungary.

In addition to his main duties, he has also taught at the Faculty of Education and Psychology of Eötvös Loránd University and at the Ludovika University of Public Service. As part of educational mobility, he has also taught at Partium Christian University in Romania and Janos Selye University in Slovakia.  


From 2014 to 2021, as a professional expert at the Hungarian Education Office, he was first a member of the TÁMOP 3.1.5. expert working group, then of the EFOP 3.1.2. expert working group. He is an expert in teaching supervision and teacher certification, a specialist advisor, a 'Master teacher' since 2014, and a 'Research teacher' since 2021. 

Since 2017, he has been the editor-in-chief of the Magyar Református Nevelés [Hungarian Reformed Education] pedagogical journal. Since 2022, he has been a member of the scientific advisory boards of the World Conference for Religious Dialogue and Cooperation and the World Conference on Research in Teaching and Education. Since 2023, he has been a public body member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (MTA). He is a member of the Advisory Board of the Károli Junior Academy.

In 2007, he was awarded the Zenit 41 Apáczai Diploma Award and the Regional Prima Award, in 2008 the Példakép [Role Model] Award, in 2011 the Bárczy István Award, in 2013 the Vajda Award, and in 2023 the Szenczi Molnár Albert Award. In 2024, the Presidium of the Reformed Synod of Hungary recognized his ten years of leadership with a commemorative plaque. In 2022, the Arany János Society in Nagykőrös elected him an honorary member.
